Dave, the head mead maker, enjoys using modern techniques to oak-age and add other flavors during the process like coffee, chocolate, hot peppers, fruits, and spices. You can even learn to brew yourself at their regular beginner mead making workshops!\

Appalachian Tea on Ohio Ave is an oasis for tea enthusiasts and safe space for all. The owner, Sasha Strader, has curated over 46 varieties of tea, from pink chai to ice wine tea, along with delightful treats like orange cardamom cake. It’s an elegant escape for rare espresso connoisseurs, too. Pop in for a break in the library or knock out some work in their co-working space. On weekends, their high tea tray specials feature tea, pastries, and savory treats.

The Bullock Distillery

This distillery recently received Double Gold Designation by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition after only just opening in 2021. The team distills its vodka and moonshine right here on the West Side, and partners with others to crafts its gin, rye, and bourbon whiskey. The team says what sets its drinks apart from the competition is the Greenbrier County limestone cavewater it uses for dilution.
